Investigators have confirmed that the Hyundai i20 car linked to the blast was driven through 12 key locations spanning six districts — a route now being described as “unusually extensive” and possibly pre-planned. The districts covered include South East Delhi, East Delhi, Central Delhi, New Delhi District, North Delhi, and North West Delhi.
Sources close to the probe revealed that Umar’s movements appeared “methodical” and not coincidental. While the purpose of visiting so many diverse locations remains unclear, authorities are examining whether these trips were linked to reconnaissance, logistical planning, or the placement of potential associates.
Among the notable stops made by the suspect were Netaji Subhash Place, Ashok Vihar, Connaught Place (CP), Ranjit Flyover, Delight Cinema, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, and Rohtak Road. Additionally, his trail includes sensitive areas in North Delhi such as Kashmiri Gate, Dariyaganj, and Red Fort, where the blast ultimately occurred.
A senior investigator told reporters, “The pattern of travel suggests familiarity with Delhi’s road network and possibly an attempt to evade surveillance. Visiting multiple districts in a single day without clear purpose raises suspicion of coordinated activity.”
Authorities are now analyzing CCTV footage, toll records, and mobile tower data to reconstruct Umar’s precise movements and identify potential collaborators. Forensic teams have also begun examining the remains of the car, which sustained severe damage in the explosion.
